animal medicine

by Erin Williams on January 18, 2013

Last month I sold this painting to a wonderful lady and received this thank you yesterday:

Hi Erin, just want to let you know how much I am enjoying your Great Blue Heron painting, it is really a spectacular – it feels majestic.  And I looked up the Great Blue Heron in my animal totem book and the 2 items associated with it where so appropriate for where I am in life right now (self-reliance and aggressive self-determination), so I think of these mantras every time I walk past it (which is a lot in a small house J ).  I told Sam ‘well, you already know what to get me for my birthday present’ (that’s not until May, but it will be another Erin Williams painting, ha ha ha!).

So many many thanks for the beauty you are bringing into my life!!!

This is why I do what i do and is such an affirmation of art as healing medicine.  Makes me smile inside and out.

Lately I’ve been thinking of the sea turtles swimming in hawaii and how I was so drawn to their energy medicine and I am tapping into that now.  Here is a painting I did of sea turtles maybe 15 years ago.

I gave the original to my brother Tom who lives by the sea and loves to swim, like my mother and me.  I think the sea turtle is a family totem and I’m tempted to paint another sea turtle, especially with my new connection with them on Maui.

Today on my beach walk I saw a blue  whale breech 10 times (jumping completely out of the water).  She looked like she was jumping for joy for the warm day and the plentiful fish in the kelp beds.- now that is some good animal medicine to tap into.

I think the animals are teachers directly from mother earth and we are wise to be open to their energies and subtle messages.

One Love~

Maui wowee

by Erin Williams on January 8, 2013

i returned to maui for the big 2012 grand finale.

back to Source

into proper alignment with higher self

to share some romance with my man

adventure with my boy

and of course,to paint the tropical beauty.

i was pretty productive in spite of all the play time, relaxation, contemplation and meditation i did.

unplugging allows for that and i promise myself once again to unplug more this year

collecting heart shaped coral took on importance there, as it should.

i am now part of this wonderful gallery

what a joyful place to begin the new year.  what a dream this life is…

My medicine

December 3, 2012

I am taking an ecourse called Sales and Soul being taught by Kris Oster which involves digging deep into the depths of your being to access the underlying impetus of what it is you offer as an entrepeneur.  This has been an intense week, in my outer life as well as inner, but as circumstance [...]

Hillary was here for 5 blissful nights over Thanksgiving words can not begin to explain the nourishment my soul received from her presence.  There is something very deeply grounding in the ancient power of the feminine that she embodies. What an honor that she chose me as her mother.  Her lessons of strength and balance [...]

Into the Void

IMG_2306

Something big inside me shifted this year when I began building my angel temple (the tippy top can be seen down the cliff here) and redesigning Casey’s 30 year old dark ivy/fern overgrown landscape.  My focus shifted and the importance of my exterior environment became as important as the home interior. Since it’s completion in [...]

She wanted a set of delicate white tulip watercolors to go in her chocolate colored dining room. To coordinate with her wallpaper in the adjoining enclosed porch. Add some ivy, harmonize with the earthy colors of her home, but in softer hues.   A lavender and gold butterfly for transformation. But mostly I sense she [...]
