Casey and I bought this designer marble dining table at Costco on New Years Eve day and got inspired to revamp our main room
It seemed so appropriate to clean the slate of our space as we make psychic renewals for our lives
Our new layout is so much more open, spacious, light and airy
I moved my computer to this round asian antique table in the corner
This half of the room is the dining area, closer to the kitchen.
This end contains the seating area and is more open to the ocean view
and magnificent sunsets every night
We moved the tv to this end of the room
I had fun mixing and matching my paintings and fabric coverings
and combining them with our contemporary Italian leather couches and asian antiques
very cozy- Georgie’s bed in the center of the space
put my rooster in the balanese mask frame with Casey’s carved wood eagle from China on a rooster pedestal
moved this antique cabinet that houses treasures from distant lands over to the wall where the tv was
now it’s next to the dining table where the artifacts can be enjoyed more intimately.
Shabby Chic we are not. Trendy we are not.
Elegant, exotic, bright, serene, comfortable and open we are. Wonderful qualities to embody in ourselves as reflected in our living space.
This year I am letting go of trying to fit into the current trends and staying true to my own voice and expression. My aesthetics may not have the commercial appeal of some right now, but they are what I can live with, what makes me comfortable, what soothes me and makes my heart sing. I vow to create for my soul this year. Loving Successful Acceptance my mantra~
